1. How do I purchase a Mission Overland trailer?
Mission Overland has a retail partner network across North America (see Dealer Locator). These retail partners carry an inventory of Mission Overland trailers so you don’t have to wait to purchase your trailer, or you can contact a dealer for customized options. 2. What is the GVWR of each Mission Overland trailer?
- Summit: 2250 lbs Dry (standard no options)
- Trail Dog: 2180 lbs Dry (standard no options)
- Approach: 4000 lbs Dry (standard no options)
3. How many people can each model trailer sleep?
- Summit: 2 adults + 2 children (with bunk option)
- Trail Dog: 2 adults +2 adults when the cargo area is used for sleeping
- Approach: 4 adults
4. Do the trailers come with a warranty?
We offer a warranty for every trailer we manufacture. See the Warranty section for details.
5. Can I use the water systems in the winter?
All water systems should be winterized when temperatures are below freezing. We have information on the winterization process in the owner’s manual or on our YouTube channel.
6. What types of options are available?
Each of our models has a wide range of options available: roof racks, rooftop air conditioning, awning wall kits, pure sign wave inverters, and custom wrap designs just to name a few. See our Trailer Builder for options available for each model.
7. What type of axles do you use, and do they have brakes?
We use a Timbren axle-less suspension with electric brake hubs. 3500 lbs HD for The Summit and Trail Dog, and 5500 lbs HD for The Approach.
8. Will my trailer fit in my garage?
The Summit will fit through a standard 7’ residential garage overhead door opening. The Trail Dog and The Approach will not.
9. Do you have an air conditioning option?
We now offer a 9,500 BTU rooftop air conditioner for The Summit and Trail Dog as a purchased option. The Approach comes standard with a 10,500 BTU built-in floor model air conditioner.
10. Does my trailer come with a battery?
Service batteries for the trailer are not provided by Mission Overland, please see your Dealer.
11. Do the trailers stay warm in cold temperatures?
The Summit and The Approach come standard with a Truma Combi forced air furnace with 14,300 BTU max output designed for caravans, vans, and trailers. The Trail Dog has a Truma Vario forced air furnace with 11,500 BTU max output available for purchase. All heaters used are very efficient and designed to heat spaces 5 times larger than our trailer models.
